‘The Last Ship’ season 3 spoilers: Taking a look at ‘Legacy’

After a week off of the air, “The Last Ship” will be returning to TNT Sunday night with new episodes, and with that, the road to what is potentially going to be an epic season finale will continue.

For the sake of this particular article, though, we’re going to look beyond that for a moment all the way to near the end of the season. We’ve got a little more information from a TNT press release about “Legacy,” which is the August 28 installment of the show. The synopsis below may not be particularly lengthy, but it does give you at least a solid idea of the direction that this series is taking as we get closer to the end of the road:

“Chandler comes face to face with his powerful enemy in a final showdown. Kara joins up with someone that can help with her mission.”

In the end, where do we think that this story will go? Presumably, our assumption is that this “final showdown” is not going to conclude in this episode, given that this is not the finale for the show and you want to save some drama for that. As for Kara’s mission, we know that the political landscape is likely only going to get cloudier and cloudier as we near the end of the season. Ever since the death of Michener, we’ve seen the world start to devolve into a more and more chaotic place.
