‘Doctor Who’ season 10: Jenna Coleman has no plans to return — at least for now

Doctor -There were in some ways several endings to the Clara Oswald character on “Doctor Who.” First, it appeared as though she had sacrificed herself during “Face the Raven.” However, she eventually returned for the finale thanks to a twist, and she and Maisie Williams’ character of Ashildr had a chance to depart on their own journey. It was a more fitting ending to an adventurous character, and one that does leave open the chance that we will see her again down the road.

However, don’t expect that to be for some time. Speaking per Collider, Coleman (who has been promoting her new season “Victoria” through the TCA Summer Press Tour) made it clear that she does not plan to return for a little bit, even if the door is still open down the road:

“We had the exit in the works for so long … Who knows, in the future [maybe I could come back]? But I think, at least for a good while, Clara is probably broken down somewhere in time and space, trying to understand how to work a TARDIS with Ashildr (Maisie Williams).”

Coleman is certainly busy at the moment with “Victoria,” but our feeling is that it would be perfect if she was to turn up once more in a way similar to how Amy Pond returned in order to say good buy to Matt Smith’s Doctor prior to his regeneration. We do think that moment will come for Peter Capaldi eventually, but it also may not be for some time. Season 10 will air next year on BBC One / BBC America, and the actor has not said whether or not this will be his last as The Doctor.
