‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: Matt Letscher presents tiny Flashpoint tease

Reverse -It is fair to say that in one way or another Eobard Thawne a.k.a. the Reverse-Flash is going to be essential to the end of Barry Allen’s journey through at least the Flashpoint arc of “The Flash” season 3. Heck, he is even the one who first utters the word “Flashpoint” on the show. While Barry is living in an entirely new world in which his mother and father are still alive, there will be something that is off about it … and something that Eobard could have intimate knowledge of.

Of course, this storyline is so secretive that it is incredibly tough to get much in the way of a concrete teaser, but Matt Letscher (who is going to be appearing both on “The Flash” and in a major role over on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”) passed along the following message to TVLine:

“I can say that he’s definitely central to the overall problem, and that Barry needs him.”

At this moment, this simple tease is one of the many reasons why this season of “The Flash” is so fascinating for the most part. You are effectively throwing two characters together who are diametrically opposed to one another, but in the process, you continually find ways to pair them up and have them work together. It’s a complicated yin and yang, but that is why so many of the villains in this universe work so well. Another great example of this is Oliver Queen and Malcolm Merlyn over on “Arrow”; the two do need each other from time to time, even if neither party wants to admit it often.
