‘The Walking Dead’ season 7 promotes Negan and more on Twitter

twdAMC is going to be debuting some footage for “The Walking Dead” season 7 a little bit later today, but in the meanwhile, the network really wants to give you a further incentive to tweet about the show’s return.

What you see below is a rather creative way in which the show has come up with to get you to see some interactive content. Use the hashtag below on Twitter, and it reveals itself to you. Granted, we don’t actually think there is anything that revolutionary in here if you tweet it out; it’s more or less just another reminder that Negan kills someone at the start of the season.

While we applaud AMC for using technology in new ways, at the same time we would exercise at least a little bit of caution here in forcing people to tweet something out in order to see the goods. Why not just go ahead and give it to them, especially given how long you’re making people wait to see something that they thought they were going to get at the end of season 6? It really is a test of loyalty, and at the same time a test of persistence for viewers.

We actually wonder just how much footage the network is really going to be even able to put out there for the new season prior to it airing. After all, it feels like almost anything that you put out there would in turn give away someone who survives Negan’s attack. It’s a little bit of a tricky game that the series is going to be playing in here.
