‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ season 11, episode 4 review: Shannon Beador, Vicki Gunvalson talk things out

On the last episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” we saw Vicki offer Tamra a sincere apology for everything that happened with the Brooks situation last season. Tamra accepted that apology and we hope to see this friendship heal over the course of the season. Heather has accepted Vicki’s apology and is willing to be friendly with her again, but not to become close again. As for the other women, well we are going to see more of Vicki’s apology tour in this episode and are most curious about Shannon’s reaction to it.

Once the beach party moved inside to Kelly’s stunning home, Vicki found a moment to hug Shannon, tell her she’s sorry and asks to speak privately with her. It was a great first move, but it’s clear from their talk that it’s going to take a lot more to get Shannon to come around. Shannon isn’t convinced that Vicki wasn’t involved in the Brooks lie and it goes from an apology to a heated discussion very quickly. Once the fight cools down, Vicki says that she wants their friendship back, and although Shannon says that she forgives Vicki, she doesn’t know if she can be friends with her again.

Later all of the women (minus Vicki) go up to Kelly’s room to check out her closet and while the ladies are gushing over how fantastic it is, Vicki comes in and says she really wants to be friends with everyone again. Meghan is quick to point out that they were never friends to begin with and Vicki leaves the party saying she’s being ganged up on. Kelly agrees and feels that the ladies need to stop ganging up on Vicki, but Meghan tells Kelly to step back and not get involved because she’s only known Vicki for two weeks.

We loved seeing Shannon extend an invitation for her party to Vicki. We get that the friendship is broken, but Shannon is trying not to exclude anyone and that’s a really nice gesture. Tamra thinks that the invitation was a bit passive/aggressive by reminding Vicki that this is just an invite to the party and not an invitation to friendship, but sometimes you have to draw that line and be honest, so people don’t get the wrong idea. Episode grade: C+
