‘Outlander’ season 2 finale: Another quick tease on what lies ahead

Outlander -The second season of “Outlander” understandably took this weekend off with it being the Fourth of July on Monday, but rest assured that there is quite a bit of story to come. Specifically, we’re talking here in terms of the finale airing on Starz on Saturday night, one that runs for ninety minutes and should offer at least partial conclusion to the story; granted, it will also serve the purpose of accelerating things into season 3, whenever that happens to come on the air.

If you are looking for yet another tease for this episode while you wait, look not further than seeing what Prince Charles himself in Andrew Gower had to say in a Yahoo! TV interview:

“I am going to give you very short, mysterious clues — wax, an unfinished battle and more God. It is going to be a great, great episode. Not to be missed.”

For those wanting more insight into the suddenly boldness of Charles, as well, as he tries to ensure that he gets precisely what he wants out of the Jacobite Rebellion, Gower also comments on that while also talking about a few changes made for the sake of the show:

“He sure means well but it doesn’t always work out for him. I think he probably did have the desire to do his part, but he is far from a warrior. I have really liked that the details about the rebellion and the battles have been historically accurate — things like the secret path, the conditions, the introduction of the generals — but that the show has built their story inside of that framework and taken some artistic liberties for the sake of story. I have taken some license with Charles and I do hope that people appreciate that we are trying to link the beginning of the series with the end of the series.”

Will Charles make it through the season? Given what side of the war he is on, it’s understandable to have this sort of fear; we cannot speak to the books, but we know in real life he died in Rome many decades after the Battle of Culloden.
