‘Supernatural’ season 12 spoilers: Jared Padalecki teases bad news for Sam

Supernatural -

Sure, Sam Winchester has been through a lot over the years on “Supernatural,” but doesn’t getting shot still royally suck? We’d imagine so, and unfortunately, that is precisely what happened following the end of last season.

Speaking to TVLine in a new interview, Jared Padalecki confirmed that Lady Toni Bevell, who had fired a bullet at Sam during the season 11 finale, connected with her shot. With that being, we already know that without Sam, it’s pretty darn hard to continue the show. He’ll have to battle whatever ramifications come from this over the course of the opening episodes.

Padalecki also commented on Amara’s “gift” to Dean in the finale, which was the return of Mary Wincester to the show:

“I love [the actress who plays Mary in] Samantha Smith. So I was like, ‘We get Sam back! That’s awesome!’ My reaction as a fan of the show was, ‘What a cool show to be a part of where we can do that and get away with it.’ [That] and I was just really stoked.”

Of course, we’re always down to explore a little bit of Winchester family history, and getting Mary back now may be the best we can hope for since it definitely does not appear as though we are going to get to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the horizon. After all, just remember the magnitude of his gig at present over on “The Walking Dead.”

The new season of “Supernatural” will be premiering this October on The CW. Stay tuned for more!
