‘The Last Ship’ season 3 has new premiere date; ‘Murder in the First’ pushed back

Last Ship -

TNT has finally confirmed now when the season 3 premiere of “The Last Ship” will air, and as expected, it is really as simple as turning back the clock one week.

The first two episodes of the Eric Dane series are now going to air Sunday at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. They were originally set to air this past weekend, but were ultimately delayed out of respect for the horrific attack in Orlando over the weekend. It’s a move that is certainly understandable, given that it is always been in these sort of situations to be sensitive.

If you have not seen it yet, the synopsis for the first part of the premiere can be seen below — it doesn’t give anything major away:

“CNO Tom Chandler is sent to Asia to investigate a possible mutation of the Red Flu. Captain Slattery and his crew deliver cure to Southeast Asia but there may be an unexpected threat in the region.”

Due in part to this move, TNT will now also push back the premiere of “Murder in the First” to Sunday, June 26 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. This episode was originally going to air on Sunday, but due to “The Last Ship” airing over the course of two hours, there simply will not be room for it on the night. Hopefully, fans will remember this and be sure to come back and check the show out. We’ll certainly have some other news when it comes to the series over the course of the next few days…
