‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10: Should Stuart get a love interest?

Mrs. Carter: Is it time for someone else in “The Big Bang Theory” universe to find a little love?

We’ve made it rather clear over time now that we are quite a fan of the Stuart character, really to the point where we have suggested at one point he should get his own spin-off series. We’d still settle for him having a larger role here, which is why we ask the question in the title.

We already know what the concern for some fans would most likely be, and it is twofold:

1. It’s not entirely that realistic for every geek in the world to find their other half, and every other character on this series has been lucky in love over time. If Stuart is, as well, it’s almost like a fairy tale.

2. There are already a lot of characters for a sitcom on this show, so is there really room for another one?

In responding to those questions, what we’d say to #1 is that this is not supposed to be reality, for one, and we also think that Stuart is a character most would consider worthy of love. He’s a moocher and at times creepy, but he has a good heart and we root for him. Why wouldn’t we want him to find happiness? There’s an inspirational quality to this show we want to see maintained.

As for issue #2, it doesn’t have to be a full-time thing. You could tell this story in a few episodes, and at least at that point you’d know that Stuart ends this show in a very different position than he starts it. That’s worthy enough of celebrating.
