Is ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2, episode 8 new tonight? Return date and more

For the past several weeks, we’ve had a chance to see what was in many ways a clear clash of the cable TV titans, given that “Fear the Walking Dead” has been put in the challenging position of having to air right up against “Game of Thrones.” It’s not something that anyone would want to deal with, but to the series’ credit, it has at least figured out some way in which to proper stay afloat.

Now, the good news for the show is that by the time it is back, it won’t have to worry about that anymore. Last week was the midseason finale for the Cliff Curtis series, and even if it wasn’t, there would probably still be a good chance that AMC would not want to air a new episode of the show tonight anyway. Why is that? Much of it really traces back to the fact that Memorial Day Weekend basically transforms its Sunday into another Saturday, meaning that there is not a big TV audience around.

For those who have not heard, the second season will return on Sunday, August 21, following the run of “Preacher” this summer. One of the other reasons for this particular timing could be making sure that the show does not run up too directly against the Summer Olympics in Rio, which will be ending on that same night.

Once there is some further news regarding the second half of this coming season, rest assured that we’ll have some further news for you then!
