‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: Get ready for the Mad Hatter (finally)

Gotham -We’ve heard for quite a long time that “Gotham” would be bringing us its adaptation of the Mad Hatter villain, so forgive us for being the slightest bit skeptical when we first heard that the character could be stopping by next season. We wanted to get some sort of official confirmation on the subject before we started to get excited, and we do now have that courtesy of executive producer John Stephens.

Speaking in a new chat with Comic Book Resources, Stephens makes it very clear that the Hatter is not the only “Alice in Wonderland” inspired villain that the show will be bringing into the story this time around, either:

“We’ll be seeing Mad Hatter in season 3. We’ll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we’re going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we’ll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy.”

The Court of Owls seem for now to be the Big Bads for the season, or at least the closest thing that we’ve got to it at present. After all, just remember that they were the ones secretly pulling the strings on Wayne Enterprises and by association Indian Hill, and they are the most dangerous organization in the city. Learning who they are and what they do is going to be essential to piecing together where this show is going to go from here.

While we are super-excited about all of these villains, we do hope that they all have proper time. One of our frustrations in what was otherwise a great season 2 is that for many villains, whether it be Mr. Freeze or even the revived Fish Mooney, there really was not a whole lot of them to digest.
