‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2 spoilers: What happens next with Nick?

Moving into the second part of “Fear the Walking Dead” this season, there are many questions regarding the fate of many characters. For example, we don’t know what is going with Chris or with his father Travis, and we also have no idea what in the world is going to be coming with Nick. After seemingly falling in with at least some of Celia’s viewpoints, the end of the episode featured him choosing not to go along with Strand and company. He’s seemingly now adrift, or at least so it seems.

With that being said, there is much more to this character for now than meets the eye. Speaking on this subject to TVLine, executive producer Dave Erickson makes it clear that Nick may have a plan that we’ll get to see unfold very soon:

“We connect something in the premiere of the back half. We find out he had something in his hand that we didn’t know about that makes him a little bit less insane than to just walk off. He also reconnects with someone when we come back in Episode 8.”

Whatever it is, we just hope that it makes a little more sense and provides us with even more insight and understanding as to who Nick is as a character. he’s certainly been established as an interesting / mysterious guy, but there are more layers to him that we are waiting to peel back. Maybe some of these well come in the second part of the season, provided we get a chance to see them.
