NBC’s ‘Grimm’ season 5 finale reaction: On the Eve – Juliette transfer, season 6 uncertainty

The fifth season of “Grimm” is now over, and while there are many things that we could talk about from Rosalee’s pregnancy to the death of Meisner, ultimately one of the more significant surprises came all courtesy of a stick. That may be helping to make Eve a little bit more like Juliette than ever before, which creates a rather interesting conundrum for Nick in particular moving into the sixth season.

So what are we supposed to make about potentially some feelings coming back? Speaking per TVLine, executive producer David Greenwalt explains the situation with the following:

“There’s part of her that was dead, that she had killed, that they had killed. Suddenly it was awakened. And because she’s a Hexenbiest, it had a super effect. So we’ll have to see what happens with the Eve side of her personality and now having all these feelings, which is going to include a lot of guilt. It’ll be complex.”

In this world of the show, is there really anything otherwise? Just a thought…

Anyhow, Greenwalt also commented further on the show’s long-term future, given that for now “Girmm” only has a 13-episode sixth season on tap for the fall. It turns out that, for now, he really does not know more than anyone else regarding what lies ahead:

“We’re assured of 13, which is more than half the season. There may or may not be more episodes. It may or may not be the last season. These are things we don’t yet know. We’re certainly thinking of arcs for next year, and then [the episode order] will determine how long it takes to do that.”
