‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 23 (finale) spoilers: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles in ‘Alpha and Omega’
The eleventh season of “Supernatural” has definitely been an intense one, and we’ve had a chance to see a few big surprises since the premiere. Did anyone project that whole Lucifer twist? Maybe it was easier to figure out that Amara had some sort of tie with God, but we did not expect that this was going to be the season that we first had confirmation that Chuck’s alter ego would be officially revealed.
Next week, we are going into a story entitled “Alpha and Omega.” Want to get some other news when it comes to what to expect? Then take a look at the synopsis below:
“God (guest star Rob Benedict) comes to a decision about Amara (guest star Emily Swallows) that has direct repercussions for Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb.”
By the end of this episode, we have to imagine that we are going to get some sort of cliffhanger, which we imagine will be crazy, twisted, and full of all sorts of great surprises. Now, let’s turn to the promo below, which includes a ton of soul-collecting, and also a showdown between Amara and Dean that should be one for the ages. We’re excited to see what happens, and also how the Winchesters managed to get out of this tricky situation.

So… after all the spouting about Sam having to be the one to save the day this season… in the end, it turns out to be Dean? What the crap?
I love this show and I’ll never abandon it, but I find that the show has always been at it’s best when the story focuses on both brothers, Sam and Dean working together, which seems to only happen during the times when it’s Sam destined to save the day. Sam finds the strength to preserver because of Dean, or Dean has to come to terms with the fact that his brother has to do something that could likely kill him while Sam prepares for battle. Either way, both Ackles and Padalecki are in the spotlight. Otherwise, whenever they turn the focus to Dean, Sam seems to be shunted into the background.

This has been such a great season, best since season 5. I kind of wish they would end the series on this high note… It’s impossible to top Amara as a villain (power wise atleast).

Same old crap . . . One of the brothers dies, gets brought back, etc. Every year it’s just repetition after repetition. Dean will get the Mark back and the sacrifice himself for the greater good, yadda, yadda, yadda. They need to kill this show. It’s gone on too long.

If you don’t like the show no one is forcing you to watch it. Don’t try to ruin it for the people that still love the show that’s selfish.

Who’s trying to ruin it for you? Other people can’t have different opinions than yours? Go ahead, enjoy the show, but you have no right to tell others how they should think or feel just because they don’t agree with you. That’s immature.

Well let’s see here the people that are trying to ruin it are the ones saying “oh this show should of ended this long ago” This page alone is pretty much for the fanbase of the Supernatural world and yet people come here and start wars by saying what I just mentioned. You don’t see me going onto pages of other shows saying to their fans saying “This show should of ended years ago” I think a few shows should of ended awhile back but I don’t go to the fans saying that I keep my opinions to myself like what alot of people should do so no it’s not immature of me to say that. It’s immature of people to go to a Supernatural fan page and say that the show should of ended years ago.

If you really enjoyed the show it was already ruined by the show runners who started with the repetitive crap after season 4

Dean can’t get the mark back. Last ep it’ll said he was tainted. I’m wondering if they’ve given up the idea of caging Amara with the Mark and just destroying her and Chuck both leading to “chaos” for season 12

Well said,Leslie. You’re not the only person who feels this way. And since this might be a Dean story you can be sure it will be butchered or cut short just like Demon Dean and Purgatory were.

I agree. I still watch the show because jeez, after 11 years I’m still invested enough in these characters to want to know how it ends – it’s like an ex boyfriend that you still stalk on Facebook. But they have a BIG problem with their plotting. Every season the enemy just gets bigger and bigger in an effort to raise the stakes and keep the tension going, but it doesn’t work because we’ve known that Sam and Dean (and even Cas) will never be killed off for real since freakin’ season TWO. Meanwhile there’s little point in getting attached to any new characters that are introduced (Charlie, Kevin, Benny, Gadreel, Hannah) because they inevitably WILL get killed so that the show can remain about the brothers. This season has freakin’ GOD revealed, and Lucifer as part of the big show down – how, exactly, do they think that ANYTHING they do next season will be able to top this in terms of drama?
Although I am more optimistic if Andrew Dabb is taking over as showrunner because his episodes are pretty consistently good and I feel like he understands the characters and how to make them interact in a way that Carver never did.
I would be interested to see season 12, instead of focussing so much on making every threat bigger and badder, actually go SMALLER and show us the more human stories that have been attempted at times over the series’ run but always aborted far too quickly. Let’s see a fundamental disagreement between the brothers that doesn’t abruptly and arbitrarily get resolved once one of them is in danger of dying (see seasons 8 and 9 to name just two, that also just so happen to be Carver-era. He was a curse to this show, honestly). Show me the season where one of the brothers is diagnosed with a terminal illness and the other has to deal with it. Show me the season where there’s nothing to hunt and the brothers have an existential crisis about what the hell is the point of living if they’re not hunters. Show me the season where Cas actually dies for real and they just have to deal with it. GIVE ME ALL OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL FEELS
tl;dr this show has gone on for too long, those who mindlessly praise it either a) only started watching during Carver’s era or b) are just wilfully blind to its flaws, and we do have a right to criticise it because to criticise shows that we do, in fact, care. If we didn’t care at all we wouldn’t want it to be better, we would just leave. And we’re not trying to ruin anything for you. We just have opinions, too, and you can’t tell us we’re not allowed to express them just because they’re negative and/or don’t fit in with your own. That’s censorship and it’s also childish and selfish.

So God isn’t gone.. Thank God.. And dean is getting the Mark back if he accomplishes in locking the darkness.. And what is it about souls.. ?? I guess souls are powerful enough to defeat Amara. So if Dean is going to be the bond does that mean that Dean is willing to stand up against Amara even to the extent of sacrificing himself for the betterment and mistakes Winchester’s did

Rowena doesn’t say “you’ll be the Bond. She says “You won’t carry the Bomb, you’ll BE the Bomb”

When Rowena says to Dean- You will be the bond” we definitely could see Billie grasping souls in her hand. It’s the same jacket she wears isn’t it ?

Is it Billie? Nice catch.
