‘Call the Midwife’ season 5, episode 8 (finale) spoilers: Is someone set to die?

Call -

The finale of “Call the Midwife” is coming your way on PBS in one week’s time, and based on everything we’re hearing right now, there is one word to describe it: Big. This is going to be an episode of the show to remember. There will be some surprises, some heartbreaking moments, and ultimately a chance to see where the story could go moving into the future. It’s the last episode until Christmas, so let’s hope you really get a chance to check it out. (Minor spoilers ahead.)

Unfortunately, we wish that we could say that this episode is going to be a happy affair. Unfortunately, this episode could end up being one of the saddest ones we’ve seen so far. Someone is going to die, and the reverberations are going to shock the entire community.

If you look below, the TV Guide synopsis offers up a few more details onto what to expect:

“In the Season 5 finale, Dr. Turner discovers the reason for the recent rise in birth deformities; Nonnatus House copes with a tragic loss; and joy is found at a wedding reception.”

So in the end, we are going to have a chance to see something worthy of a smile or two, but at the same time you’re going to have to get through not only that death, but also some of the problems as of late for Dr. Turner coming home to roost. They’ve been hinted at throughout the season, and it’s something that should make historical sense.
