‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 22 preview: A grieving Regina in ‘Only You’
If you are wanting some more specific news as to the upcoming season 5 finale of “Once Upon a Time,” rest assured that we’ll have that in due time. We know that there is going to be plenty of time over the next few days to discuss it, so we want to start things off here by focusing on “Only You,” the first hour of the two-part event airing at a special time at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Based on the synopsis below, this episode is going to be when you start to see more than a few familiar faces from the first half of the season return. Remember Merida and Henry’s love interest Violet? They will both be around, and we have to assume that the latter is the reason why we’re getting “Only You” as the title. As you may recall, that is Henry’s “song,” so to speak.
Now, let’s get back to sharing that synopsis:
“In the first hour of the special two-hour season finale, Regina reels from the death of Robin Hood, and everyone tries to give her room to grieve, but when the heroes discover Gold has stolen Hades’ Olympian Crystal and tethered all of Storybrooke’s magic to it, they set out to stop him. Henry decides he no longer can stand all the pain magic has caused his family, so he goes rogue, with Violet in tow, to destroy magic once and for all. Meanwhile, Zelena, Snow, David and Hook attempt to open a portal that will return Merida and the other Storybrooke guests to their homes, but things go awry, and the group winds up in a deranged new world.”
This “deranged new world” should help to set things up for the finale, and who knows? Maybe it’ll be a season 6 tease to go along with it. No season of the show is like the other, and hopefully some more viewers will catch wind of how great the past few episodes have been (Robin’s depressing death aside) and find a way to catch up on the show before the next batch of episodes begin.
