‘Blue Bloods’ season 7: Premiere date speculation and more for Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg drama

Blue Bloods season 6Later tonight, “Blue Bloods” is going to be saying farewell to season 6 with what we certainly hope is an intense finale full of some surprising twists and turns. It doesn’t need to go for the same sort of “OMG moment” that we see on a TGIT show, but we do at least need something that will help it remain memorable in the years to come.

We will have a review in the hours ahead to get more into that; for now, though, we want to focus a little more on the future of the series as a whole. We already know that there is a season 7 of the show coming up; it was renewed earlier this year, and it should be no surprise when you consider that this is the top-rated scripted Friday show both in terms of total viewers and the 18-49 demographic. Were it not for “Shark Tank,” it’d be the #1 Friday show period. (It does have the edge on it in viewers.)

As for when the likes of Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and the rest of the cast back on the air, CBS is pretty consistent in airing it on either the last or the second-to-last Friday of September. If that pattern holds, you could see it start on Friday, September 24. We also suppose it’s possible that it could start a week later on October 1, though this would be the latest that the show premiered over the course of its run so far.

One way or another, we don’t anticipate the show shaking things up too much when it clearly has a pattern of what works well for it.
