‘Devious Maids’ season 4 video: Eva Longoria talks guest role (as herself)

The fourth season of “Devious Maids” is going to be coming your way on June 6, and to get you a little more excited about the show, Lifetime has released a juicy new promo that offers up a look behind the scenes!

Front and center for this particular promo is none other than Eva Longoria, who is going to be doing a little bit of double duty on the show. She has long been an executive producer, but this season, she is also coming on board as a guest star, playing the oh-so-complicated character of … herself! Based on what we see here it appears as though she has a lot of fun with the idea, and also is not particularly afraid to make fun of some of the longstanding rumors about what life behind the scenes on that show may have been like. She leans into her persona, and for any actor to do that is always a smart move.

Of course, the clip does also give you a little bit more of a sense as to what the drama for the season could be, but that’s expected given that you have to have something to promote story-wise.

Also worth noting in this article is the tweet at the bottom from Ana Ortiz, who makes it clear that there are only ten episodes this season, down three from what we had for season 3. What’s the reasoning for that? It’s hard to necessarily pin it on any one thing, but we’d argue that a big component is that this keeps the show lined up with another Lifetime series in “UnREAL,” which is premiering on the same da.y
