Bryan Fuller’s ‘Star Trek’ series for CBS All Access to film in Toronto

For Bryan Fuller, Toronto has certainly become a great spot for him to do great work. “Hannibal” filmed in the city for years, while his new series for Starz in “American Gods” is also doing work in the city.

Meanwhile, today CBS TV Studios announced that the upcoming “Star Trek” series executive-produced by Fuller is also going to be filming in the city later this year. At the moments, plans are for this new show (which will premiere on CBS before transferring over to the CBS All Access streaming service) to premiere at some point next year.

While we are immediately excited for what should end up being a really fantastic addition to the pantheon of great science fiction, we do still have a while to wait until this show actually starts up production. Maybe by that time we’ll have some more news about the cast, and also what the story could be or its place in the franchise’s history. Personally, we’d prefer to see something in the TV timeline that is set after all of the other iterations to have come out. The difficulty that comes with doing a prequel show like “Enterprise” is that there are only so many stories that you can tell, since you don’t want to run the risk of messing with the canon or eventually screwing things up.

Once we do have some other news on this revival, you better believe that we’ll have it for you here and then some. Excitement level is currently off the charts.
