‘Supergirl’ season 2 and Clark Kent possibilities

We figure that so long as “Supergirl” is around, there are going to be some conversations about whether or not Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman could be a part of the show. He’s been mentioned, and he’s certainly flashed by the screen before now. Yet, we’re still waiting for that full-on appearance.

There was a part of us that wondered if the show was just never planning on showing Clark just for the sake of keeping this firmly about Kara, but it turns out that maybe the executive producers aren’t so opposed to the idea, provided that there is the right venue and the folks over at DC Comics sign off on the idea. Speaking per Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg passed along the following message:

“It will always be a dream of ours to be able to have Clark or Superman on the show … Hopefully with continued success, that opportunity will one day present itself.”

Granted, maybe it is not the right move to get entirely ahead of ourselves here, given that at the moment the show has not been renewed for a second season. Yet, we’ve been consistent all along with our opinion that it will be coming back, and it’s just a matter of when CBS chooses to make the move and how they want to implement more episodes. Given its success, especially compared to some other shows on the network, this feels like a fairly easy decision. We’ll just have to see what happens come next month, when a decision has to be made.
