‘Call the Midwife’ season 5, episode 5 preview (PBS): Dr. Turner’s crisis and much more

Dr. Turner

There’s another new episode of “Call the Midwife” coming onto PBS Sunday night, and this is one that (as per usual) is going to have a lot of great stuff going on. We have a new preview for you below courtesy of the network, and there is also an attached synopsis to dive into:

“Fred and Violet’s relationship grows stronger when a back injury forces Violet to put her beloved shop in Fred’s care, with unforeseen consequences. Across Poplar, another family unit appears to be broken before it’s begun, as new mother Roseanne’s past continues to haunt her, wreaking havoc on her family life.”

Ready for some more teasers? Then read on…

1. Delia’s going to have a very big moment in this episode, and it won’t necessarily be just as a love interest for Patsy.

2. The Fred story may actually provide at least a few lighthearted moments, which is something rare for this show. Take advantage of the chance to smile, since it may not necessarily last particularly long.

3. The story of Roseanne is going to be the tear-jerker of the episode, so prepare your hankies accordingly. We’ll be back with some deeper reaction to this episode not too long after it airs.

4. What Dr. Turner learns in this episode about health hazards really scratches the surface of what he is going to be dealing with for the remainder of the season. Anticipate several difficult moments as many of his beliefs are challenged in the medical field.
