‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9 spoilers: Sheldon hires Stuart … to spend time with Amy?

Big Bang Theory -Who would’ve imagined that we’d be getting Sheldon hiring someone to be Amy’s friend on “The Big Bang Theory” this season? It’s such an odd idea for an episode, but at the same exact time, we have a feeling that it could make for a fairly-entertaining story.

This is one of the main premises for the upcoming May 5 installment entitled “The Line Substitution Solution,” and you can check out the synopsis below to learn a thing or two more about some other main storylines:

“Sheldon hires Stuart to spend the day with Amy when he’d rather go to a movie screening. Also, Leonard’s mother, Beverly (Christine Baranski), comes to town and Penny struggles to make a connection with her.”

What’s interesting to us about reading this is that this is the first of two episodes in a row to feature Baranski, as we already know a thing or two more about her appearing in the finale. That’s where Judd Hirsch is going to be guest-starring as Leonard’s father, and we’re also going to get an appearance in here from Sheldon’s mother, as well. While it is not entirely clear as of yet why we’re getting so much family at the end of the season, it does seem to be a major theme for what is going on.

As for Stuart and Amy, we mostly just find it to be a funny concept, especially since Stuart is the sort of guy who has been known over the course of the series for being lonely. What happens if he and Amy strike up a friendship? Is that something that Sheldon would get jealous about?
