Will ‘Supergirl’ season 2 focus more on Kara, James Olsen relationship?
Mrs. Carter: Is there going to be an epic “Supergirl” romance in season 2?
At the end of the show’s first season on Monday night, the CBS series featured the characters of Kara Danvers and James Olsen finally getting together, a move that was long suspected to be coming starting from their first meeting in the pilot. Thanks to his close relationship to Superman, he was one of the few people who really understood what it was like to live with powers.
However, for most of the season, he was preoccupied thanks to his own relationship with Lucy Lane, and Kara did have her own brief romance in there with Cat Grant’s son Adam. However, it was Myriad that caused the two to live more in the moment, and actually make the relationship really happen.
So where do these two go from here? It’s an interesting question, given that this is a chance for Kara to have about as normal a relationship as she can have. This is not like “The Flash,” where Barry Allen has been forced to hide some of who he is from Patty Spivot or, at the time, Linda Park. James knows everything! However, at the same time it may still be jarring still given that she has these powers, and their relationship cannot function in the same way that some of his other ones have in the past. He may need to be patient during some of this adjustment, especially since Kara probably does not have a lengthy romantic history thanks in part to her keeping her powers a secret for so long.
Luckily, there are tons of fun things that the two parties can do, whether it be going on dates, balancing their relationship with saving the world, and also seeing how others around them respond to it. It’s for this reason that we really hope the show doesn’t just go back to the status quo of season 1 if it is renewed. Don’t go back in time with this romance!

I really am not feeling the james/kara pairing. there simply is no real chemistry between them. Their new romance seems too forced. I originally wanted Winn and Kara to be together, but now i only would want that if Winn fights for her instead of just freaking sitting at the side and watching her get swooped away by some other guy and still be doing nothing. I think Winn also deserves to be loved by someone who sees him the way he used to see Kara. It would be great to see Winn be with someone else and have Kara be jealous about it and then realize he’s been there all along. The actor who plays James can go, sorry but i just never liked his acting. I also want to see more Alex and Kara scenes and drama in the next season. Chyler and Melissa make the best tv sisters, much better than Chyler’s previous tv sister relationship, (Meredith and Lexie’s) from Greys Anatomy. Maybe also a romantic interest for Alex, that would be great to see!! But that’s just me. :p

I hope the focus isn’t on James and Kara. I don’t like them as a couple because he brings nothing to the table other than being supermans friend and now Kara’s boyfriend.

I disagree James has been a strong force if assistance, he’s the guy who helped Kara discover the mole within Catco as well as risked his life trying to find out information on Maxwell Lord and nearly faced DEO gunfire to ensure that Alex went on with her plan to save Kara. He’s done more than most of the folks that fans want Kara to be with.
