‘The Blacklist’ season 3: Megan Boone welcomes daughter day after key Liz Keen episode

There were ultimately quite a few reasons why the actress was quiet on social media this past week. Obviously, she didn’t want to give anything away about the future of her “Blacklist” character of Elizabeth Keen after what appeared to be her death. More so than that, though, she was busy welcoming her own child into the world less than 24 hours after her character did.

In a post on Instagram, Boone confirmed that she and Dan Estabrook have welcomed their daughter Caroline Boone Estabrook, and that everyone is now doing fine. They even shared the first public photo of the child. Megan’s exit was likely brought on in part by her maternity leave, which we imagine would keep her away the majority of the season and for good reason. She’s got some other big priorities at the moment!

As for whether or not she still has a future on the show, that’s the sort of thing we’ll just have to wait and see on. We want to remain hopeful that this was all some last-second trickery and that she will be back in the future, but it may not be the sort of thing we get answers on for some time. It’s with that in mind that we’ll just need to take a wait-and-see approach on; it’s certainly a good incentive to keep watching!
