‘Big Brother Canada 4’ spoilers: Ramsey Aburaneh leaves due to father’s illness

Ramsey -The rumors have been swirling all weekend regarding the status of Ramsey Aburaneh on “Big Brother Canada 4,” but now it is official: He has chosen to depart the series in order to be with his family.

Today, the show released a statement on Facebook confirming the news that Ramsey is no longer a part of the series:

“Yesterday Ramsey received news that his father is ill and requires surgery. In light of this situation Ramsey has decided to leave the Big Brother Canada house and be with his family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ramsey and his family and we wish Mr. Aburaneh a quick recovery.”

First and foremost, let’s just say that our thoughts are with Ramsey and his family. Nobody wants to see someone leave over such circumstances, but we applaud him over choosing to be with his family, which does matter so much more than what is effectively a game show.

As for how this impacts the show, that remains to be seen. We know that Ramsey had won the Veto, and the reality here is that he probably was in a really good spot to go far in the game given the social capital he had with players like Jared who were outside of his alliance. It was also possible Maddy could have stayed if Tim became the new target.

The rules are a little bit murky here when it comes to what happens for the remainder of Nick and Phil’s reign as Head of Household. Our personal feeling is that the show should do almost a Double Eviction style show on Thursday to remove one more player from the game, and not continue with this eviction since losing Ramsey does change the structure of the game. For example, he would’ve been a vote most likely to keep Maddy, and given that Joel, Cassandra, and Nikki are all on Tim’s side, the brothers may not be able to evict him even if they do nominate him. We may not love Maddy as a player, but we’re all on Team Fairness.
