‘Dancing with the Stars 22’: Paige VanSant’s partner Mark Ballas injured

Paige -

There is a little bit more drama when it comes to “Dancing with the Stars” performance show on Monday, at least when it comes to yet another injury in the ballroom.

According to People Magazine, longtime pro Mark Ballas (who is working this season with UFC fighter Paige VanSant) injured himself this week, which has led to troupe member / former “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant Alan Bersten stepping up and working with her for the time being. Here is what one source had to say about what is going on:

“He injured his back at camera blocking rehearsal on Sunday … It’s an old injury that he aggravated. It’s up in the air if he’ll be able to perform tonight.”

We certainly think that it is still possible Mark comes out and performs since we know he likes to be there for his partner; however, at the same time there’s really no reason for him to rush this sort of thing along. Just remember for a minute here that Paige is a favorite to go far thanks to her athletic ability and her previous dance experience, so if Mark feels like it’s better to rest up and prepare for a potential stretch run, we wouldn’t be shocked at all if this is what he decides to do instead. It may be smart to just have himself as ready as possible for the future, since this could be a long season and things may get even more intense from here.
