Is ‘The 100’ season 3, episode 9 new tonight on The CW? Episode title scoop
For much of the year so far, “The 100” has certainly been in the headlines for both good and bad reasons. Earlier this season, we’d say that the news was good. The show was demonstrating year-to-year improvement in the ratings, and to go along with that, we were seeing it win many fan polls and trend all over social media.
Then, the death of Lexa happened and things have certainly turned around. While there are still fans supportive of the series and its vision, there have also been plenty of people who were enraged by the splitting up of one of the show’s most prominent love stories. Creator Jason Rothenberg lost a multitude of social-media followers, and the ratings fell for the last episode without her (though some of that can also be attributed to other factors).
Where does the show go next? You can see a little of that in the promo below for March 31’s “Stealing Fire,” but we thought that we’d also share with you in here some of the upcoming episode titles: “Fallen” (3×10), “Nevermore” (3×11), “Demons” (3×12), “Join or Die” (3×13), and “Red Sky at Morning” (3×14). These were shared on Twitter by Clexasource, and while they are not the most informative in the world, they do certainly suggest that some more dark times are coming.
Probably the best thing about the rest of the season is that we can now watch it and enjoy without some of the pressure of wondering whether or not it is going to be coming back. It was already renewed for a season 4, so we’re interested to see what the writers come up with for that.

Really? the romance between clarke and lexa is what people are worried about? not the pretty great story telling, development, and constant flux of people’s character’s? One thing I like about the show is that its not afraid to show character regression, we see so many tropes in television. For example, the bad guy becomes the good guy and that’s it, there’s character flaws that the show so wonderfully embraces. The characters are believable flawed creatures developing in a world built solely on survival. In a lot of themes the show reminds me of the walking dead. I for one and am glad they ditch the romance lest it get too cheesy or overdrawn, after all it is a world in a POST APOCALYPTIC setting. there isn’t supposed to be peace, love, and happiness. If there is, its definitely not going to last long (Refraining from putting walking dead spoilers here).
I digress, Lexa, although I had a hard time accepting this miley cyrus look-alike, became one of the best characters on the show. its sad to see the actress and character go, but this show has tendency of building up from tragedies, and making the story that much more rich. We get to see more of the Grounders culture and backstory, getting more immersed in this setting.

There’s brave and uncompromising storytelling – which is why I think Season 2 of this show is one of the best seasons of TV ever – and then there’s cheap shock tactics designed to create social media controversy.
Lexa’s death was cheap; using the ‘dead lesbian trope’ to bait the internet and upset people. The fridging of Bellamy’s insta-girlfriend (did she even have a name) was cheap. Bellamy’s character assassination is cheap.
I’m not as upset as others about Lexa’s death because I had no personal investment in the ship (I did, however, think Lexa’s character was one of the best on the show). I am upset about the sudden reliance on shock tactics to drive the plot, rather than characterisation.
Like others before it, this show is a victim of its own previous brilliance and is therefore held to a higher standard. Because of that, I don’t think this season is as bad as it seems right now. But it is hugely disappointing when compared to what came before.

It might just be a difference in opinions, but I wouldn’t have considered Bellamy’s character compromised, sure his moral compass was higher than season 1 by season 2, and it seems he taken a step back, but it makes sense. Hes supposed to be the anti-hero “bad boy” who’s gone good, but can someone really meet those expectations for viewers, all the time without it becoming stagnant? If we think the characters more as just human beings, surviving, being influenced and continuously molded by their environments. In season 2, Abby said it best “maybe there are no good guys.”. But again I don’t think their shock tactics have detracted from the story, or characters within it at all. The shows still fast paced, entertaining, and while there’s many intersecting story lines in play, it still highlights the importance of each of them. And I can’t really judge this season as whole until i finish it all, but overall I think its done a great job.
But yeah I’m just more annoyed than anything that people are annoyed about the relationship itself, nothing deeper about the show lol.
