‘The Simpsons’ mocks political debates with Donald Trump – Hillary Clinton – Ted Cruz dream (video)

The Simpsons -

This weekend “The Simpsons” released a new video online, and in this one they showed their own knack for political satire.

As you can see, Marge has a bad dream that includes many of the biggest names in politics fighting on stage in the most over-the-top manner, using at times even real soundbites from some of the candidates. You’ve got up there Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Hillary Clinton, Dr. Ben Carson, and Bernie Sanders all engaging in a little bit of silly back-and-forth, and there are some funny moments. For example, who else out there enjoyed Kasich wearing a sash that says “I’m the nice one,” something that he has reiterated time and time again on the campaign trail to varying effect?

Of course, there is admittedly a certain part of this video that already feels dated, given that Bush dropped out of the race this weekend. While “The Simpsons” are learning to be a little bit faster at times with their animation, they’re not “South Park” … and not even they may have been able to predict when a given candidate would exit the race at the last second.

Given that there are still a whopping eight-plus months to go until the election, you better prepare for a whole lot more of this sort of content. Be sure to come back to the site soon for more! (Of course, we imagine that most of the political sketches to come will be via “Saturday Night Live” rather than the Fox animated comedy.)
