‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: First look at Scottie Thompson’s (second) return
When Scottie Thompson first returned to “NCIS” earlier this season as Jeanne, it was certainly a surprise. She wasn’t even a character who was on our radar for the majority of the past several years, but when she can back everything that happened between her and Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) came rushing back.
Now, we’re coming back with some of the first details regarding the second appearance of Thompson on the show for an episode airing later this month entitled “Loose Cannons.” Over the course of this episode, Tony is going to be heading to the Sudan to investigate a case involving doctors there. Along the way, he is going to run into Jeanne, and the two may be collaborating on some sort of mission. The photo below comes via TVLine, who also confirms that Jeanne’s husband will also be returning in this episode.
This is the same episode that is also going to feature an appearance from none other than Jon Cryer, who reprises his role as Dr. Cyril Taft for some of his big action on the show outside of surgery / helping Gibbs. It’s interesting to see the series bring back so many important players right now, and as a result of that, we’re definitely curious to find out what sort of place they could all have in the larger universe over the course of the next several weeks / months (if anything at all). Sooner or later, we do also hope that there are some clues coming regarding why Tony is leaving the team at the end of the season.

I’m glad Jeanne is coming back but won’t bother to get my hopes up that Tony will get to do much of anything. Without a doubt Gibbs’s story with Dr. Taft will be the central story that gets the most attention. Can’t they give Tony even one episode that doesn’t feature the inevitable Gibbs story more? Sadly, the question is rhetorical. We all know the answer.
