‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Amy Gumenick (finally) returning as Cupid!

Arrow -You can file this news under “stuff we are insanely excited about.”

As first reported by Comic Book Resources today, Amy Gumenick is going to be returning to her old stomping grounds in “Arrow” for an upcoming episode airing this spring (the 16th of the season) in her role as Carrie Cutter a.k.a. Cupid. She had a particularly memorable role back in the third season of the show, where she turned up as a crazed lover of the Arrow who eventually squared off with him in battle. She then later returned to the show in a Suicide Squad-inspired episode, one that happened to feature DC deciding that they couldn’t have Deadshot on the show anymore.

While we don’t know for sure why Cupid is coming back now, we do feel certainly convinced that her being present here is definitely good for the long-term future of the character, and for the show remembering that there are a few familiar faces we do want to see back as much as possible. She’s a great character in that there aren’t many other people in this universe with a similar obsessive quality to them … and we also figure that Felicity could have a few things to say about Cupid now given the evolution in their relationship since she last turned up.

Now, if only we could also get some other beloved “Arrow” villains back. We’re still waiting on the right opportunity to get to see more of Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson.
