‘Gilmore Girls’ revival: Jared Padalecki will return as Dean

One of the last major mysteries of the Netflix “Gilmore Girls” revivals is now resolved, and this is certainly one that will put a smile on the faces of many people out there: Jared Padalecki is going to return as one of Rory’s first loves in Dean!

Padalecki himself confirmed the news in a post on Twitter, which to us means that you really have all of the important love interests of hers from the series back. Matt Czuchry and Milo Ventimiglia previously confirmed that they were returning, and Jared is the final icing on the cake. We cannot imagine that some of these roles were easy to schedule in, given the fact that Matt is a regular on “The Good Wife,” while Jared is a key component at the moment on “Supernatural.” Both are also currently still in the process of filming their current seasons in New York and Vancouver respectively, while “Gilmore Girls” is in production in Los Angeles.

At the moment, it feels like show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has been able to get back the vast majority of the familiar faces from the show’s original run, with the main exception being Melissa McCarthy. The “Mike & Molly” star had said previously that she has not been asked to do a part on the revival, which to us has been confusing since we’d heard suggestions previously that there were overtures to her camp.

This revival will likely hit Netflix in 2017; we’ll have some further news as it comes out.
