‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 13 reaction: How will Barry handle Earth-2 Iris reveal?

If you think back to the start of Tuesday night’s “The Flash,” then you will remember that Barry was still nursing some strong feelings at the time for Patty Spivot. The two just broke up, and he was trying to move forward with his life. Maybe he saw visiting Earth-2 as a little bit of an escape.

With that said, was being there ultimately a way to awaken some of his feelings for Iris? You have to wonder that based on the events in this episode, as he realized that his Earth-2 counterpart was married to Iris, and the show shared a few romantic moments. In speaking on this subject to TVLine, executive producer Todd Helbing said that this situation “affects [Barry] quite a bit … [It] really sits with him. That’s going to be on his mind quite a bit in upcoming episodes.”

Eventually, we should understand more as to whether or not this gives us more or less hope for the future of these two as a couple. At the moment, we’re confident that sooner or later Grant Gustin and Candice Patton’s characters will find a way to come closer to each other, mostly due to the fact that this is the way things seem almost destined to be in this world. The main issue may just be going from point A to point B.

For the time being, though, Barry’s real priority is probably just going to be stopping Zoom, saving Harry’s daughter Jesse, and then escaping Earth-2 if at all possible.
