‘Supergirl’ episode 13 reaction: Will Non strike out for revenge?

Supergirl -

At the end of Monday night’s new episode of “Supergirl,” one thing can be said for certain: Non is not a happy man. Astra died at the hands of Alex, and as a result of that her husband is going to be out for revenge in one way or another.

In setting up this particular conflict in a chat with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg made it clear precisely what he is going to be doing now that he no longer has a wife:

“We’ve seen Astra had some measure of compassion for Kara … As we say on the show, ‘Blood bonds us all.’ But Non is not blood to Kara. And the loss of his wife, who he truly loves, will make him a very dangerous foe.”

So anticipate quite a bit of Non moving forward, and for Laura Benanti fans, don’t worry: You’ll still get a chance to see her again at some point in the future. Per Kreisberg, the only reason why Astra was killed off was simply because of the fact that the actress has some Broadway commitments that will make it harder for her to regularly appear on the show moving forward.

Even though Astra is gone for the most part now, have no fear that there will be some other villains who pick up her stead at some point in the future. The entire Superman / Supergirl mythology is rich enough that there will always be some more villains ready to pick up the mantel of going after Kara Zor-El.
