‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: Taye Diggs lands key role in 300th episode

NCIS -While we’re never quite sure that we will see a musical episode of “NCIS,” we can at least tell you right now that the upcoming 300th episode is going to have a strong musical component to it at least.

According to TVLine, TV veteran and master-of-many-things Taye Diggs is going to be appearing in the upcoming landmark 300th episode in a role that is sure to raise plenty of eyebrows: A special ops sniper by the name of Aaron Davis who has been undercover music therapy and other procedures at Walter Reed in an effort to get his life back. Gibbs reaches out to him about a case, and the two men could end up forming a unique bond.

In a statement about the casting news, show boss Gary Glasberg had the following to say:

“For our 300th episode we needed a guest actor who could proudly portray one of our nation’s wounded warriors as well as participate in a very touching musical performance. This emotionally charged role is tailor-made for Taye Diggs and we are so thrilled and honored to have him join us.”

We can understand the critics of “NCIS” out there saying that this is yet another big story about Gibbs in an era where we’ve seen countless of them, but we do at least appreciate how this guest casting and how the storyline for this episode seems to be centering in on the core of the show, and what it can do that few other shows can: Honoring those who have been in the military.
