‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: First details on Jon Cryer, Scottie Thompson’s return
We already had heard that both Jon Cryer and Scottie Thompson were going to be coming back to “NCIS” for an episode episode this year, but isn’t it nice now to have a few more details regarding just what this story is going to contain? We like to think so, and we’re hoping that it proves to be entertaining and then some.
Today, CBS released the official synopsis for this February 23 installment entitled “Loose Cannons,” which suggests that Cryer’s Dr. Taft is going to be thrown in particular into the thick of things in a way he did not expect:
“Doctor Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer) experiences the rush of an NCIS case after he is assigned surgical duty to Gibb’s suspect and finds key evidence. Also, Dinozzo pays Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson) a visit as he chases a lead involving doctors in Sudan.”
Given the knowledge now that Michael Weatherly is departing the show at the end of the season, it’s nice that we get at least one more time to revisit Jeanne, though we do hope to see many more people previously associated with the show and his character, as well, before the finale. While we’re starting to hear more about the episodes as we get closer to the big 300th milestone, there’s not too much in the way of information out there about what is coming up beyond that.
There will be another new episode of “NCIS” airing on CBS Tuesday night, and we plan on sending even more great TV scoop your way before it airs.

In cannot believe that it looks like Ziva will not be apart of this incredible show after so many years AND history between Tony and Ziva.
What are the writers thinking?

oh god. DiNozzo’s chase leads to the DOctors in Sudan?! That’s where Jeanne’s husband is. Tony is leaving with Jeanne i just got this gut feeling that her husband is involved.

It won’t be Tony’s chase. Gibbs and Dr. Taft will get all the action. Tony will hang out in the bullpen and might get to interview someone. Only Gibbs can be in danger these days.

Who needs this useless Tony romance back on screen again! Clearly shows that SR never watched the episodes with Jeanne years ago!
Must be hard for Harmon to accept that a good actress like Cote de Pablo doesn’t need NCIS to be successful! If he was a real mentor instead of a Diva he would want her back to give the audience the TIVA happy ending they deserve instead of making NCIS a soap about this useless Bishop Girl Scout!

Would rather see Tony get the excitement rather than Dr. Taft, but when ever Tony gets a little featuring, Gibbs has to get a lot more so we have to have Dr. Taft and Gibbs getting the lion’s share of drama and danger again. I wonder if the current powers that be will have even one episode that is Tony centric before he leaves.

I am also a big tony and Ziva fan and if they are bringing Jennie (Scottie Thompson) back for Tony to go off – that would be a kick in the teeth for us Ziva/Tony fans.
Especially as they didn’t have proper closure.

I don’t care to see Ziva back at all. My understanding was that when Ms. de Pablo quit she only made herself available for a very short amount of time so they couldn’t give her much screen time. Also given the last minute nature of her resignation combined with the weak writing staff they seem to have now it’s not surprising that the ending was not so good. I do think they (as usual) sacrificed Tony to give tiva fans a bit of satisfaction though. I liked the Jeanne arc and loved the way Tony was written during that season so I am fine with the idea of Jeanne somehow being involved in Tony’s departure. But somehow I doubt that the current powers will put that much thought into it. They haven’t given Weatherly’s DiNozzo much to do in a very long time and I think they will be scrambling to promote their next big thing and Gibbs of course.

That is not her side of the story. She was in negotiations with CBS for months. They were in a standoff and finally she had to cave in or quit. She chose to quit. She never said anything negative about CBS or anyone associated with NCIS. She took full responsibility for her decision. Cote is a class act.
Just last year she said that she had wanted more time to close the story of Tony and Ziva but it wasn’t possible. She has said that she would be open to coming back but I don’t think that CBS wants her back. They would prefer to invest their time and $ in trying to prop up Bishop. Again, I am not trying to beat up on Emily Wickersham. I don’t like the character Bishop. I don’t think that the character is well written. They practically had to do a lobotomy on Gibbs to try to make her fit in. She has pulled so many bone head stunts, that it causes my head to spin. The original Marine -tough Gibbs would not have wanted her on his team. Instead, he coddles her. As I’ve said before, this is a different show from the one I loved.
