‘The X-Files’ season 10, episode 4 video: The death of Joseph Cutler in ‘Home Again’

We feel like we should start this “X-Files” sneak peek out with a little bit of rumor patrol, since we know that there is still some speculation floating around out there about Monday night’s new episode entitled “Home Again.” We’re here to tell you that despite however much you may want this episode to be linked to “Home,” our understanding is that it’s not meant to be. Maybe this is just a smokescreen being thrown out there by the writers, but for the time being we have to take the producers at their word.

Still, there’s potential for “Home Again” to be great, and the sneak peek below is certainly action-packed. There may not be a sighting of either Mulder or Scully in here, but you are still going to be getting a chance to see a grisly murder scene with Joseph Cutler at the center of it. It’s the worst thing to happen to someone named Cutler since a Chicago Bears game.

Of course, we imagine that this setup will lead to a smart, fascinating investigation for Mulder and Scully, and the only other tease we can offer up for you at the moment is that “Home Again” will bring back up some of those questions about the couple’s child that they gave up for adoption, and what their future could have been had they made different decisions. While there was certainly some humor on the show last week, we’re about to be reminded of more of the pain.
