2016 Super Bowl Commercials: Arnold Schwarzenegger helps to promote Mobile Strike

Mobile -Mobile games have become more of a tradition on Super Bowl Sunday over the course of the past few years. We’ve had a chance to see Kate Upton promote “Game of War,” and on Super Bowl Sunday night, we’re also going to have a chance to see none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger in a commercial for Mobile Strike.

Is this ad particular effective at throwing you into the game? Let’s do our part to analyze that. (One thing to note here is that we’re analyzing a teaser, which may not be what airs during the big game.

The premise – Apparently playing the game is so addictive, even the former Governor of California and action star is able to get into the game.

What works – It’s Arnold! If you are going to promote something that is at its core about kicking butt and taking names, is there really anyone else you want leading the charge? He’s the perfect spokesperson, and he seems to be at his best surrounded by explosions.

What doesn’t – We still don’t really have that great of an understanding as to what this game really is, or what it does / what it feels like to play it other than that you get immersed into the world. This is a very similar ad to what we saw last year with Upton, with the only difference being a different celebrity. We would have preferred a more innovative concept.

Grade – C. Even if the actual commercial tonight is slightly different than this one, we don’t see Mobile Strike doing much to have us remember them for quite some time moving forward.
