‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: A fun buildup to 300th episode
For all of those who are excited to see the 300th episode of “NCIS,” trust us when we say that we’re right there with you … but we cannot offer too much on what is coming in there just yet beyond just saying that it should be a good chance to honor some of the larger themes of the series.
What we’re here to discuss today instead is episode #299, which carries with it (per Entertainment Weekly) the title of “After Hours.” The story here is going to revolve around getting a chance to see some of these characters out of their normal environment to solve a case. Specifically, Abby will be doing some investigating in her pajamas, while McGee may be using dinnertime with Delilah (Margo Harshman is back!) as a chance to piece together some more clues.
Is this episode perhaps 200 or so too late? We’d say so, since this is something we’ve been hoping to see for a really long time. We know that this is a show that has medical examiners in the cast, but we still don’t always want it to be so clinical. We’d appreciate a few chances here and there to see people let their hair down … or at least the people who have enough hair to do so.
Will we get some clues in here as to what precipitates DiNozzo’s exit from the team? We’re not that hopeful. We’d personally love to see at least the beginnings of it in episode #300, that way the show can build that story up moving into the final weeks of the season. We just need to wait and see if that actually happens or not.

Of course the 300th will be another big Gibbs centered story. Aren’t they all? Let me guess – Mr. Glasberg and company will create a story in which the noble hero GIbbs fights passionately for the underdog while the team looks on in foggy useless amazement. Would love to see an episode where the team – every single member – mattered and figured in rather than just being used to accessorize Gibbs’s awesomeness.
