‘Shark Tank’ video: Combat Flip Flops go for humor, heart

Shark Tank -There has certainly been a trend of socially-conscious products appearing on “Shark Tank” over the past year or two, and while we always respect the generosity, giving back doesn’t mean that a Shark should give you an investment. You need to provide some sort of proof that you are going to get a Shark their investment back and then some, and this is what Combat Flip Flops is hoping to do on Friday night’s new episode.

We really like the pitch that the two former Army rangers behind the product give. They use a little bit of humor to show just how some of their products honor the military, while also being the exact opposite of being in a warzone. They also make it clear that they help support women in Afghanistan by providing them more education. They also support their employees all over the world.

Now, we have no clue what their sales on, but we think as far as flip-flops go, they look pretty great! We’ve already seen online that the prices are slightly higher-end for the product but also still affordable. There’s little reason to shy away from them unless you just absolutely hate this kind of footwear.

Ultimately, the needle is pointing up for Combat Flip Flops probably getting an investment tonight, provided the numbers and the business plan make some sense. They’re catering to a specific market that hasn’t been explored that much on the Tank, and both the mission and the philanthropy are things that will appeal to the Sharks … provided that they are still making a profit.
