‘The Bachelor’: Ben Higgins explains sending Jubilee Sharpe home

Jubilee -There have been many moments on “The Bachelor” this season that have been frustrating for a wide array of reasons, but when it comes to this past episode Jubilee Sharpe fans had more reasons to be frustrated than most. She was sent home at the end of a group date once Ben Higgins determined that he could not handle some of her insecurity surrounding the group dates, or feeling like she wasn’t that special in relation to some of the other women.

In the end, do we think that Jubilee would’ve made it to hometowns even if she didn’t start to have problems with the experience? It’s unlikely, mostly because of the fact that Ben repeatedly used words like “intriguing” and “fascinating” to describe her, finding ways to compliment her that were not akin to “she’s a real contender” or “I can see her as my wife.”

Speaking in his People Magazine blog, Ben did his part to explain his decision with the following message:

“I understand how difficult this experience can be at times. And no one has ever said being on a group date is easy, especially when you have feelings growing and developing. My biggest issue so far was that Jubilee wasn’t communicating any of this to me at this point. And it was obvious even from a distance that there was a problem with her. And instead of coming to me and telling me that there was a problem, she chose to be passive-aggressive and make snide comments here and there when the rest of us were having fun. Waiting for me to pull her aside and pull it out of her instead of coming to me and telling me there was an issue.”

Ultimately, we also still wonder whether or not “The Bachelor” is the right show for Jubilee, since this is not the sort of venue where it is easy to feel loved or valued. Maybe “Bachelor in Paradise” will give her better opportunities for individual relationships, but we’re not sure if either this or “The Bachelorette” are in her future.
