‘War and Peace’ episode 5 preview: Prince Andrei’s return; an unexpected result

We are now two mere episodes away from the end of “War and Peace” on BBC One, and based on what we have in the latest sneak peek below courtesy of the network, things are going to become even more complicated well before they start to simplify.

On the surface, you would think the subject of this sneak peek would be a happy one. After all, this is a wonderful opportunity for Prince Andrei to return home! However, the consequences of this said return are somewhat unexpected, given that we are talking here about someone who is going right back out onto the battlefield. There’s no real time for him to rest, or even start to turn off a switch where he is able to view his home in a more personal light.

One other thing that he seems particular unhappy with is the way that Mademoiselle Bourienne seems to be carrying herself about the residence; she has found a way to leave her mark, but that doesn’t mean that he is thrilled with it.

In the end, the biggest surprise to us is given the events of this past episode of the show, we almost expected to see the series do more and more when it comes to promoting the Natasha storyline. After all, we’re starting to think that there may not be any character within this world more devastated at the moment than her given some of the recent choices she has made.
