‘Shark Tank’ video: Controlled Chaos tries to bring innovation to curly hair

For our final “Shark Tank” preview of the day before we get around to Friday night’s new episode, we’re getting a little bit chaotic! Specifically, we’re talking about a product in Controlled Chaos that is looking to redefine the world of curly hair in the best way possible. The two ladies above have come up with a product that works to keep hair healthy and looking strong no matter the situation.

We’re not going to spend too much time in here going on and on about curly hair, mostly because we know almost nothing about it and the last thing we want to do here is speak extensively about something we know nothing about. It’s also something that is difficult to say conceptually is a great product or not, since it’s hard to look at it and say that it works. Maybe it is better than everything else on the market; if nothing else, we like how the women identify themselves as “experts.”

One other thing that we think the company does have going for it right now is that the valuation seems reasonable. Going in low is typically a nice sign of good faith to the Sharks. It proves that you are willing to respect what they bring to the table, and that you are really there for a deal more so than just getting publicity for your brand. We’re not saying that everyone who does go in high is just seeking publicity, but perception is important.

For now, we’re putting Controlled Chaos’ odds of a deal as a toss-up. We don’t know enough about this space to be confident.
