CarterMatt Awards 2015 results: Did ‘Hannibal’ or ‘Hell on Wheels’ win Underrated Show?

We promised that today would mark the beginning of the results in our CarterMatt Awards, and with that, we are here to discuss the results of the Underrated Show category. In total there have been over a million votes cast across every category, and we thank you for being so involved! Hopefully you found this process as fun as it was intended to be. It’s the end of the year, and this is the time to look back fondly at everything that has come before.

Now, without further ado, the results of this category are below…

“Hannibal” is the clear winner of Underrated show.

It’s easy to understand why the Fannibal faithful would come out to vote for this category in droves. Their brilliant series was canceled by NBC after three seasons, and they are still hoping to find a home for another season or even a movie down the road. This poll proves that even months after the show’s cancellation, there is still a passion and interest in seeing more of Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy on screen.

We do want to give a tip of the cap in this article to the runner-up in “Hell on Wheels,” who fought a very hard and passionate campaign. While “Hannibal” did win handily in the end, generating more than 30% of the vote is no easy feat, especially when you are an AMC drama airing on Saturday nights with less of an international following. “Longmire,” another show with a circuitous journey of its own, finished in third place.
