‘The Blacklist’ season 3 spoilers: First details on ‘The Director’

The Blacklist logo any seasonYou are not going to be seeing more new episodes of “The Blacklist” on NBC until Thursday, January 7, but when the show does return, it is not going to spend much time throwing the story into an intense place. “The Director” is the title for the first episode back, and that in itself gives you a sense of what sort of potential threat awaits Elizabeth Keen.

Meanwhile, the synopsis below offers up at least a few more details on what to expect:

“While Liz (Megan Boone) awaits trial Red (James Spader) and Aram (Amir Arison) take bold measures to ensure her protection.”

By the time we make it to the end of this episode, we should at least have a better understanding of what Liz’s legal situation looks like. One thing you should be aware of is that this is actually a two-part episode, and it will not come to a close until we get around to January 14. From here, maybe we’ll get a better understanding of the rest of the direction this season. Our hope is mostly that you can combine some of what worked in the first two seasons (the hunt for cool Blacklisters) with some of the cool little details like the evolving relationship between Liz and Red as present during season 3.

In the end, we’d say that the series is on a little bit of a creative roll right now. Let’s just hope that it continues as we start to move into the rest of this season. More than half of the story is still to come!
