Is ‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 9 new tonight? Also, Lauren Cohan hair talk!
Before we dive into the second part of the title for this “Walking Dead” article, we might as well begin by addressing the former: There is no new episode of the show airing on AMC Sunday night. The show remains on hiatus until February 14, which is pretty sad when you think about how the primetime lineup for some networks is growing dimmer by the day this month.
Now, let’s get into what many people out there are (rather surprisingly) talking about at length at the moment: Lauren Cohan’s new look. As you can see in a photo over at Vanity Fair, Cohan has cut off of her hair to go with a shorter look. In turn, this of course does lead to rampant speculation as to whether or not the character is killed off. Should you read much into this? No, and there are several reasons why.
1. If the producers want Maggie to still have her signature locks, this is what wigs are for! It’s really not that hair in the modern day and age to get someone to replicate Maggie’s old hairstyle. Maybe Cohan just wanted something shorter when she’s out and about in Atlanta during the hot summer months (or wherever she plans to be until season 7 films).
2. Maybe Maggie finds a way to cut her hair on the show. Remember how everyone freaked out when Andrew Lincoln shaved the beard? It turned out that there was actually a reason for that written into the series, as well.
3. Here is ultimately the biggest reason to not be paranoid of all of them: In the event that Cohan was actually leaving the show, there’s a 0% chance production would let her go out and do something that was such a big sign of it happening. For those weeks that Glenn’s fate was in question, Steven Yeun was basically in quarantine.
