We’re back on a regular podcast schedule this week for fans of “American Horror Story: Hotel,” and this time around it is fair to say that we (being Matt Carter and Jason Prager) have a lot to say regarding not only this episode, but all of the news of the week related to the show … especially the Golden Globes.
We may be giving too much away in the description for this particular podcast, but we do have to say right now that we have an issue with the way in which this show does get at times recognized when it doesn’t live up to the great heights of the past. What the show does with being in a less-competitive category is that it lowers the bar of expectations. We want to live in a world where it is challenging / pushing itself to be the best show it can possibly be, and we don’t think it is doing so right now.
Complaints aside (and there have been many of them this season), we’re still a little bit higher on this episode since it does at least offer up the return of some stories like the killer children and the brief return of Bartholomew, the child of the Countess whose face we have barely seen on the show over the course of the season.
Will the pieces start to finally come together on the show? There’s now only four episodes left until next week’s winter finale, and that is not a lot of time for some answers to start coming together.
