‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 22 review: Was Jared (finally) found out?

Jared on “Finding Carter” is a pretty bad dude. We’ve had the (displeasure) of knowing this for some time, but at the end of Tuesday night’s new episode we knew for sure that the guy was finally going to be taken down.

Here’s the issue: Did Elizabeth really make the right move in trusting Lori? While it ended up working out, she and the police made a big gamble by allowing someone effectively responsible for kidnapping her daughter for many years interrogate Jared to the point that he admitted to selling Seth the drugs that killed him. In a way, she was able to use her reputation as an asset for virtually the first time ever. She made it clear that she could care less about jail or doing things by the letter of the law. She wanted justice, and didn’t care how it happened.

Outside of the bar Elizabeth’s colleagues were able to hear the whole confession, and Jared is now in handcuffs. It may not make sense for her to want to work with Lori in any capacity, but it happened. (Who else laughed at the “Rizzoli & Isles” reference?)

Here’s the weird thing 55 minutes into this episode: There are still two episodes left this season! With Jared now in handcuffs and Bird now mourning the loss of a loved one, we found ourselves waiting relentlessly for the other shoe to drop. The only one that seemed to was the reveal that Bird was pregnant, and needed the help of Max and Taylor to help get through it. Ultimately, this just made it clearer what a whirlwind it is that this character is going through.

Also, Jared’s not giving up without a fight. That was made clear in the closing minutes despite what happened to him.

There’s no doubt that this was an important episode, but an imperfect one. Our difficulty wrapping our head around Lori and Elizabeth dips the show down slightly. Grade: B.
