Fall TV preview: What will happen on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘Hart of Dixie’?June 7, 2012 0 comments
It’s going to be a long summer for those of you waiting for your favorite series to come back on the air. We’re still at least three months away from many of the more popular shows coming back for a new season, but there are still plenty of unanswered questions and subjects to talk about.
So with that in mind, we are going to be presenting a weekly Fall TV Preview column to try and help keep the conversation going — and who knows? Maybe our discussions will end up leading to some answers.
With that in mind, our theme for the week is The Five Biggest Questions for Fall 2012.
1. Are the fatalities over on “Grey’s Anatomy“?
When Lexie died during the season finale, it was one of the most heart-wrenching moments that Shondra Rhimes has ever put on television. Then, she only served to make matters worse by hinting that there could be someone else joining Lexie soon.
So who is the most likely to end up six feet under? The top candidates have to be Mark and Arizona — mostly because the future of everyone else aboard the plane seems secure until at least season 10. Losing Jessica Capshaw would be devastating in that it would be the second relationship torn apart in two episodes; however, the end of Mark would mean his baby with Callie would have to grow up without a biological father.
2. Will Zoe on “Hart of Dixie” go with Wade or George?
While Elena seemingly made her decision on “The Vampire Diaries” when it comes to her love triangle — and some significant moves were made with Blair on “Gossip Girl” — there is one CW show still hanging out on a ledge with a female lead and two romantic prospects.
While Wade on paper may be the bad boy, for now he could also be the safer choice. After all, George just called off his wedding to Lemon — and imagine what sort of talk that would start up in Bluebell. Then again, Zoe has not been one to shy away from controversy and her feelings for George run deep.
3. How will magic change “Once Upon a Time”?
Just when it seemed like the Evil Queen Regina was backed into a corner, she now once again has the power to do anything she wants. The problem is that magic comes with a price — and in her case, using it may cause her to lose the one person she loves in Henry.
As if this was not complicated enough, we also have Rumpelstiltskin wanting to also maintain his level of power in the world. Expect to see a pretty intense battle between these two throughout the season — and a good bit of collateral damage where no one (even Henry and Rumpelstiltskin’s beloved Belle — who could be poised for a larger role now that her ABC pilot “Americana” seems to be grounded) ends up being safe.
4. Where does “Revenge” go from here?
Emily Thorne’s mother is still out there, and her main adversary in Victoria may now be dead (and she’s not the only one). If there is any show out there with more questions than answers at the moment, it’s “Revenge.”
While it has been rumored that season 2 will feature a change in setting to New York City, that has not been confirmed — though with that large of a playground, we do wonder what sort of damage Emily could do…
5. Will Kurt join Rachel in New York?
Since Finn told Rachel on “Glee” that he was going into the Army, we have no reason to believe that he is suddenly going to pop up in New York City during the season premiere and act like nothing ever happened. Kurt, however, is an entirely different story.
Despite him not getting into NYADA, Chris Colfer’s character has to know that he has no real future in Lima outside of helping other McKinley High ‘Glee’ club students and of course being with Blaine — and we would expect him to want to be with Rachel at some point pretty early in season 4.
What cliffhanger from this past season is bugging you more than any other?
