‘Shark Tank’ video: Trunkster looks to redefine luggage

On the surface, Trunkster looks like it could be an excellent luggage brand. We love the look and design of the product, and also many of its features. What other luggage gives you a zipperless design plus a digital scale (making sure you don’t go over weight limits), a USB charging port, and still durability to withstand difficult travel? It’s one of the cooler innovations to a standard product that we’ve seen on “Shark Tank.”

Despite our effusive praise, there is still not a guarantee in the slightest that this will be a product that leaves the Tank with a deal, even if they’ve shown an ability to get funding before through both Kickstarter and Indiegogo. For one, the video below shows that they have a pretty high valuation on the brand, and they may not be willing to negotiate down as much as the Sharks would want for them to.

One other thing that they may have to worry about is showing that there is enough proof of concept here, given that they still seem to be pretty early when it comes to actually selling the product. You can pre-order one of the bags now (just click on the Trunkster link above), but delivery will not take place until after the holidays.

In the end, we’re still feeling good about these guys getting an investment with this product, mostly because it seems innovative and right in line with what we’re seeing many people want these days: Connectivity with their devices, convenience, and something that looks sleek at the same time.
