‘Agent Carter’ season 2 premiere delayed one week by State of the Union

If you love “Agent Carter,” we imagine that you are already the patient type. What’s waiting one more week?

It was previously announced that the ABC series starring Hayley Atwell was going to be premiering on January 19 rather than the previously-announced January 12 premiere thanks to the annual State of the Union address, the last one for Barack Obama’s Presidency. We’re a little surprised by this, at least in the way that this is something that the network really should have anticipated in the first place since the address happens around the same exact time every year.

We imagine that the easy way for the show to make up for the later premiere is by at some point this year airing an additional two-hour block of episodes, which is great for those of you who want to see the show be treated as even more of an event than usual.

This season Atwell’s Peggy is going to be taking off to Los Angeles, where she will start anew with new challenges and problems. Many familiar faces will return, and there will also be some other villains who surface who have not been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. This is the great thing about having such an extensive backlog of material; there are more and more characters who you can pull from over time.

Stay tuned, as we plan on delivering some further news when it comes to “Agent Carter” as time passes, including some promos and synopses.
